April Town of Washington Board Meeting and Annual Meeting

April 20th - Annual Meeting will start at 4:30pm

April 20th - Town of Washington Board meeting starts at 5pm

The rezoning proposal for the Fried/Bolle/C&M Farm land will be on the agenda this month. As a neighborhood, we must pack the room. If the Town Board decides to vote for rezoning this land, we do have future steps to take and we will take them together to protect our ground water and neighborhood. This vote is step one in our process. Please be aware that the Town Board may tell us that we cannot have any public comment on April 20th. Hopefully the Board will be receptive to listening and learning new information from Town Residents before making up their minds for the vote.

We can make a difference! We can protect our ground water but we do need your help. Please call, write, or e-mail our Board Supervisors. Let them know how rezoning this land that will allow high density development will negatively impact your life, land, and water. This proposed development contradicts the Town Comprehensive plan in multiple ways. Check out our website for specifics or read through the Town of Washington’s Comprehensive plan.

We Need You to Protect our Water. Please attend the Town Meetings! Please join the Priory Neighborhood Water Protection Association! Please Volunteer to get the word out to encourage the Town Board to promote and protect our Town’s Comprehensive Plan! Town of Washington Board Meeting - Jan 19

PNWPAColorlogoThe rezoning is NOT on this month’s agenda but we would like at least 10-15 neighbors to be at this week’s Town of Washington Board meeting.  We have 6 neighbors who can definitely be there.  Can you?  The Town of Washington Land Plan Commission will be giving a report and this also will affect our area with their future recommended plans.  The meeting is at 5 pm tomorrow evening January 19th at the TOW building.  Please e-mail Beth Ivankovic if you can attend This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  Thank you!

February’s TOW Board meeting will be on February 16th at 5pm.  It is highly likely the rezoning will be at this meeting.  Please put it on your calendars and plan on attending!  Numbers of neighbors really matter for rezoning issues! Thank you!!

Update on the December Town Meeting

We had 60 neighbors in attendance!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  The final verdict was that the Town of Washington Board felt pressure from both the data that Dr. Hooper presented about concerns about our Ground Water as well as the high density.  The Town Board tabled their vote and asked C&M to hire someone to do water studies on the land.
The Town and County Officials have clarified that the rezoning issue is waiting additional review pending the requested water studies. Everyone who signed in at the meeting should get a letter about the next meeting concerning the zoning.
Thank you again for everyone who spoke tonight and everyone who signed the petition!
